Thanks for this tip! Makes sense, and I think it will help me a lot. I'm not sure why this has not been suggested more often; I have always just heard the "if it doesn't work, turn it around" method of spinning cotton roving.

Thanks for that tip on finding the correct end to spin.
I'm still in the early stages of learning how to spin on the Charkha.

Thank you Denny! You are my very first comment.

Actually I have some Christmas ribbon from last year that I chopped up with the intention of blending it in spinning fiber, so I may try adding it. It is kind of glittery.

A URL is your website. Abby's would be http://www.abbysyarns.com

I think in the US we started getting Christmas stuff in around the time the Back-to-School sales were over. It really seems out of place when it's 90 degrees outside. (We don't have furnace wars here in southeast Texas, we are just delighted to be able to turn the air conditioning off, which is really a bummer if you are a handspinner and want to wear all the wool stuff you've made)

first what is a URI and do I have one.
If I do have one does it hurt/cost much to get it removed?
And will it leave a scar?

Yes try them all (spinning stiped roving), then add glitter, It's christmas. Malls don't lie.

My mall is super decorated right now. Do the Americans have to wait till after their thanksgiving? Suckers.

We are all christmas all the time till Dec. 25. And our dollar has been to the gym and is really strong. yeah us.
